The killing of Goliath of
Gath was a big miracle. David could never have defeated Goliath if he was
afraid. Are you presently confronted by a big challenge? Does your present
circumstance bring to mind the duel between young David and mighty Goliath?
Fear not. Just as David defeated his Goliath so also will you defeat yours in
Jesus name. That Goliath challenging your God will be subdued through your
hands. Trust in the Lord, seek Him for direction and take appropriate steps.
The presence of the gift of working of miracles in the life of a believer will bring the fellow so much honour and even cause people to fear him. When people see you doing what others cannot, they will fear you. The Lord will do the impossible through your hands from today and your enemies will fear you in Jesus name. When you have the gift of working miracles, you must be extremely careful how you use it. It is not for showmanship. It is not for commercial purpose. It must be strictly used in line with God’s directive and to the praise of His name. For instance, when it comes to raising the dead, ask for the age of the dead person before you pray for the corpse to rise. If the fellow is about 70 years and above, it might be pointless praying for him. If the person is young, then first check up from God whether He wants the person to rise or not. This is necessary so as to prevent you from raising to life someone who has already gone to be with God in heaven. What if he rises and later backslides and goes to hell?
You must use this gift judiciously. Even though He could, Jesus Christ did not raise all the dead back to life. He only raised three dead people –Lazarus, Jairus’ daughter and the son of the widow of Nain. You must find out from Him what He wants you to do with the gift. After the lord has given you the go-ahead to use this gift, it is better to be alone with the corpse to prevent any element of doubt. Peter was alone with Dorcas. Elisha was alone with the child of the widow in Shunem. You need to be free from distractions to be able to pray the prayer of faith. Occasionally, the Holy Spirit may lead you to have physical contact with the dead fellow instead of just speaking. Such bodily contact must not exceed three times. But if nothing happens after three times, it is possible God has not allowed that miracle. The Lord will give you this gift. Seek Him for it.
