BECOMING EXTRA-ORDINARY

READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-11
Many people still misconstrue the person, mission and ministry of the Third Person in the Trinity. Some say He is just an invisible force and power. Some think He is exactly what He is symbolised by – fire, dove, rain, oil etc. Who then is the Holy Ghost? According to Hebrews 9:14, we are told a deep and fundamental truth about Him: He is eternal. This means, like God the Father and God the Son, He has no beginning or ending, was not created but is Self-existent from eternity past till eternity future. In other words, He is God and equal with the Father and the Son.
The Holy Spirit is everywhere and nothing and no one can be hidden from His presence (Psalm 139:7). He knows everything you do and think. He sees your thoughts years before you engage in them. Another attribute of the Holy Spirit is that He is the custodian of the hidden mysteries of God, according to our reading. God has deep secrets. A secret or mystery is a profound knowledge that is yet to be made public. All God’s secrets are kept by the Holy Spirit. This is why you need to be close to Him. The closer you are to Him, the more of God’s secrets He will reveal to you. He can even take you to see Heaven and Hell and bring you back to earth as He has done for some of His friends. How close is your walk with the Spirit of Truth?
Luke 1:35 calls Him the Power of the Highest which means that the power of the Godhead rests with Him. In Genesis 1:3, we see Him brooding over the waters and the next thing was that everything began to fall in place. Jesus Christ had to wait on Him. Jesus could only achieve all the miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38). It is the active (not passive) presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer that makes him extra-ordinary. If all you do is speak in tongues once in a while, without walking daily with the Holy Spirit, you will remain ordinary.
If you are close to the Holy Spirit today: the power of the Godhead will always be at your disposal to do and undo. This is how to enter into the realm of the supernatural, where everything you touch including your breath and spirit becomes extra-ordinary and miracle producing. Arise today and begin to seek the Holy Spirit’s active presence in your life.
MEMORIZE: 1 CORINTHIANS 2:12 –Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
