READ: 2
KINGS 4:11-17
Today’s
reading talks of a great and wealthy woman. She was very generous and took
delight in ministering to Elisha whenever he passed by. At a point, she added
an extension to their building just to accommodate Elisha. Yet she did not want
anything in return. She touched the man of God at his point of need and thereby
provoked a blessing from his heart. When Elisha got to know she was barren, he
simply decreed she would have a baby boy. She did not believe him but nine
months later the baby came. Are you trusting God for a baby? I decree this time
next year you will have your baby.
Those who rule by decrees are those who have known their place and position in Christ. They are those who have reclaimed the kingship and dominion Adam lost to Satan which Jesus recovered for us. They know no sorrow. To such people, nothing Satan does is permanent as they would change things to suit them by the word of their mouth. They are the ones who dictate what happens to them, their families and nations. Kings bow to them. Everybody courts their friendship because if they decree a blessing, it materialises. In the same way, everyone fears them and does everything to avoid being cursed by them as it will also come to pass. Anyone who speaks evil against them is judged. Things spoken in secret about them are revealed to them by God.
This is the life God has called you to. It becomes so easy to win souls to Christ. Witches and wizards are stripped of their powers by mere decrees. This could be you. Why not stop living the mediocre life, being tossed to and fro by situations, problems and circumstances. Stop living a beggarly life, being at the mercy of people when the reverse can be the case.
In Genesis 22:5-8, while going to offer up Isaac at the mountain, Abraham issued two decrees: He said he and his son will go up to worship and return and they both did. He also decreed that God will provide a lamb for the sacrifice and God created a ram to fulfil his decree. Arise today and begin to make decrees. Arise and enjoy the life of dominion God has called you to. By decree you can make case an exception. Everybody else may be transferred, terminated, rejected or disappointed in your office or school. You are not everybody. You are a king unto God empowered to dominate. A king that does not issue decrees is not a king. Begin to control your world through decrees from now.
