ROMANS 8:14-16
The Holy
Spirit is the One who enables us to stand before the Almighty. If you are not
born again, you cannot stand before the living God. According to our text, if
you do not have the Holy Spirit, you dare not call God, ‘Daddy’. In Acts 1:8,
we are told that when the Holy Spirit comes on us, we will be empowered to
serve God as His bonafide witnesses. It is very important you have the Holy
Spirit. In fact you may have to tarry until He comes on you (Luke 24:49). Many
preach to others but they reap little or no souls. Some are yet to see the
miraculous operating in their lives because they do not have the Holy Ghost.
To stand before God, you must be prepared to stand against the enemies of God. The Holy Spirit empowers you to stand against the enemies of God. Before Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit, he thrice denied his Lord. After he received the Holy Spirit he became very bold and stood up to the council in defence of his faith in Christ. This boldness was so sharp that he reminded them of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:13). Are you intimidated by the threats of the enemy? Yes? It is because you have not yet received the Holy Spirit.
In Acts 13:8-12, while Paul was preaching, a certain sorcerer came to obstruct him and God’s hand made the man blind. By the power of the Holy Spirit, every one hindering you from reaching your goal this year will be destroyed. In addition, those who stand before God are those who can pray. They can both pray for themselves as well as their loved ones by the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26). We are also empowered to stand in grace and continue the race by the help of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:5). Have you received the Holy Spirit? Then let us see it through the power He wields in your life.

MEMORIZE: ACTS 1:8 –But you shall
receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and to the
uttermost part of the earth.
