In the New
Testament, there are also several documented cases where God used the
‘rejects.’ In Luke 8:1-3, we are told of Mary Magdalene who had seven demons.
She was a super-witch yet she later became a treasurer to the King of kings. In
John 20:1-18 and today’s reading, she became the first one to proclaim to the
world that ‘Jesus is alive.’ If God can turn a witch into a treasurer cum
evangelist, I know there is hope for me to become somebody in His hands.
John 4:7-42 tells of a Samaritan woman who had married and divorced five times. She was attractive and the type of woman men who sought for outward beauty desired. But she had a problem; she could never sit in a man’s house. No man could satisfy her. She was with the sixth husband and probably contemplating moving on to the seventh when the Lord arrested her and she became an evangelist through whom the city of Samaria was turned to Christ. And that was the end of her jumping from man to man. Are you finding it difficult to settle down with your wife or husband? When you come to the Lord and completely yield to Him, that problem will be taken away.
The Gadarene demoniac in Mark 5:1-20 was another case of God’s power to turn the useless into a useful person. This man was so full of demons that he made the cemetery his dwelling place. His ‘anointing’ of madness was so much that even in the colony of mad people, he was highly feared. Mad men called him mad man. If there ever is hope that a mad man would regain his sanity, in his case that hope was completely lost. But only one encounter with Jesus got him delivered, recreated in Christ and he became a great and powerful evangelist.
Have people given up on you? Have you been taking drugs, heroine and other mind-blowing substances? Are you going berserk? If only you can come to the Lord. He has a place and an assignment for you. He will change your life so much that you would not believe what a great person you were meant to be. Repent and come to Jesus in total surrender. There is hope of your end for you. Never give up on life. Turn to Jesus today.
