READ: 1
SAMUEL 16:1-3
It is a
terrible thing to be an ex-servant, ex-friend or ex-son of God. If God has
called you into an office, ministry or level of relationship with Him, then by
all means never go below it. 1 Corinthians 7:20 says, “Let every man abide in the same
calling wherein he was called.” This is so important that the same
command was repeated by Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 7:24. Your inability to
maintain the spiritual status quo leads to rejection. May you never be rejected
by God.
Rejection starts between the Lord and the one who is rejected. Before long, it begins to manifest openly. When the early signs of rejection are not immediately dealt with, they will evolve into the full blown stage. There are several results of rejection. Loss of God’s presence, inability to hear from God, withdrawal of the Holy Spirit and His replacement by evil spirits, separation from Kingdom benefits, destruction, etc. One of such effects which may not be too obvious is the loss of authority.
When Adam sinned, he polluted the Garden of Eden and it ejected him. As he left the Garden, he lost the authority to be the ‘god of this world.’ Although he was expected to provide leadership for the human generation that were to come through him, he had no power to back him up. He became a figure head, a rubber stamp leader while Satan became the real power broker. Virtually everything and everyone began to dance according to Satan’s dictates, including Adam.
After God rejected king Saul, David, a young shepherd boy was anointed to replace him. This means that the anointing that was given to king Saul was automatically transferred to David. From that moment, God began to relate with David as the king even though Saul was still on the throne. He was a mere figure head –a decoration. After Eli was rejected, God began to relate with the child Samuel. In fact Eli began to ask the child Samuel to tell him some of the things the Lord has told him (1 Samuel 3). If you allow yourself to be rejected, God will transfer your anointing to someone. May the Lord never reject you. Are you already seeing traces of rejection? Immediately go on your knees and cry out to God for forgiveness and restoration.
