WHAT SOURCE?

READ: JEREMIAH 17:5-8
Elijah was sent to Cherith and fed by ravens. The Lord will lead you to your source of breakthrough in Jesus Name. After a while, the brook dried up. But Elijah did not complain because the brook was not his source. He also knew the ravens were not his source. He knew that whatever has a beginning must have an end, save the Almighty. Who is your source? David said because he wanted to avoid the possibility of ever being broke, He made God his source (Psalm 23:1).
In today’s reading, God warns against making human beings as well as God’s blessings your source. Thank God for your current job, but it is not your source. Thank God for your husband, but he is not source.  Thank God for your parents, relatives and friends but if you are a child of God, they are not your source. If you make God your source, if that job goes, He will give you a better one. In fact, He might even ask you to resign from that good job, to start a business of your own that will eventually make your former boss envy you.
Joseph prospered in the house of Potiphar. To the other servants, that position was their ultimate. Even his master’s wife tried to tell him that to secure his present position and even enjoy more; he has to begin an adulterous relationship with her. Failing which, he would lose that exalted position of service. But because Joseph knew God as his source, he was prepared to lose his job than offend his source. He lost the job, he found himself as Prime Minister of Egypt, with Potiphar now his servant.
Make God your source. Are they threatening to sack you for refusing to compromise? Stand your ground. Never yield to that evil advance. If it means losing favour before those people you so love and respect, so be it. Never love any one above God your source. If you make man your source, you could provoke God to jealousy and He might kill him. In the process you will be reconciled to Him, but this time grieving over your loss. Anyone who is trying to make you his or her source is about to destroy you. Run away as fast as your legs can carry you. Whenever you assist any needy, give the glory and direct them to Him.
MEMORIZE: PSALM 104:28 –That You give them they gather: You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
