READ: MATTHEW 8:23-27
Jesus created all the laws that
govern the world. He ha spower over all elements. Hence whenever He likes, He
will manipulate the laws and nobody can question Him. In today’s reading, Jesus
rebuked the wind. Then the sea and the storm that had kept His disciples in
peril suddenly bowed to their Maker and ceased. Scientists will find this
difficult to believe because with all their knowledge of science, they cannot
speak to storms and secure obedience. At best, they can battle to keep the ship
afloat. What all earthly scientists cannot achieve, Jesus would achieve with a
simple command.
“For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded and it stood fast” (Psalm 33:9).
Nothing can resist His command. Apart from storms at sea, there are also storms in lives, families, academic pursuit, business and other endeavours of life. The same Lord of the storm at sea is also Lord of the storms in your life. Every storm causing panic and sorrow in any area of your life today shall be still in Jesus name. Every storm must respond to its Creator. The storm in your life must respond to Jesus Christ its Maker.
The law of gravity in physics simply says, whatever goes up must come down. In Matthew 14:25-31, Jesus asked His disciples to go over to the other side of the sea. But hours later, their ship was stuck at the middle of the sea because the waves pushed them in the reversed direction. That night Jesus who had just finished praying on the moutain came to the sea side. There was no ship. There was no bridge yet He must rescue His disciples. He simply suspended the law of gravity and began to walk on water to meet them. When He was to ascend to Heaven, He also suspended the law of gravity and began to ascend until He entered Heaven (Acts 1:8-11).
What are the laws men have put in place that are working against you? The Lord of lords will suspend them so as to accomplish His will in your life. Are the laws He has made hindering you one way or another? Call upon Him and He will suspend them because of you. You are very precious to Him and if God will send Jesus to come and die to rescue you from sin and Satan, what else can He not do because of His love for you? (Romans 8:32)
