ROMANS 8:1-16
“For the law of the Spirit of
life in Christ Jesus has made free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)
The law of death says, ‘Once you are dead, you remain dead.’ That means once dead, your body is taken into the complete captivity of motionlessness. But in John 11:38-44, Jesus defied this law. Lazarus who was dead for four days and buried was raised back to life. Why did Jesus wait for days before raising His friend Lazarus to life? Some instances where He raised the dead were explained away by some people. When He raised Jarius daughter, some people siad she had not really died (Matthew 9:18-28). He raised the son of a widow in Matthew 8:5-13 and some said the boy was only in a coma. Hence in the case of Lazarus He had to make sure everybody was certain he was died and buried before coming.
“I am He that lives, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelations 1:18)
Jesus has recovered the keys of death and hell from the devil. This means even the spirit of death does not have power to kill a child of God except your time is up or your are living in sin. Jesus has given us the keys. It also means the verdict of death by doctors, judges as well as forces of darkness will not stand except He says so. That sickness will not kill you. Your enemies will fail in their bid to take your life because as a child of God, Colossians 3:3 says what Satan can kill in you is already dead. You are a new man, alive in Christ and cannot be killed.
Several people today are enslaved by the fear of death hence they have joined secret societies. Unfortunately the groups they have joined cannot protect them from death. Why not submit to the Source of life, the Lord Jesus? Are you a child of God walking faithfully before Him? You shall not die. This year, every good thing that has already died in your life, family and business shall arise and answer the master’s call. And your joy shall be full in Jesus name.
