BEYOND THREATS

READ: MATTHEW 6:25-34
While some believers are still tossed here and there by every wave of threat, a few are beyond threats. Jezebel threatened to kill Elijah within 24 hours and he ran. A lot of things can happen within 24 hours. In Acts 12:5-11, God sent an angel to deliver Peter from prison 24 hours to his execution. God turned the acute Samarian dryness into abundance within 24 hours (2 Kings 7). This is why Jesus says you should not be worried or anxious about tomorrow. Your tomorrow will be alright.
Your life is not in any man’s hand, but God’s. Your promotion, success, victory are all in Christ. Nobody can kill you before your time. No enemy can put out the life of God in you. If they have tried for so long to kill you, without success, they can never succeed again. Only pitch your tent in Jesus, the Source and Owner of your life.
However, you can decide when you want to go to be with the Lord as a child of God. In Philippians 1:23-2, Paul said he was toying with the idea of going to be with the Lord and staying back for a while because of the brethren. Then in 2 Timothy 4:6, he said he was now ready to go. Nobody can kill you before your time. You are beyond death threats. Anyone that wants to terminate your life automatically comes face to face with the One who created you for a purpose. If the person does not quit and comes to beg you, he or she will become history.
When Elijah got Jezebel’s message, he ran. He ran a marathon in his old age. One reason he ran was that Jezebel was no ordinary woman. She was devil’s incarnate. Women in Christ can be wonderful but outside Christ, Satan can really use them to do evil. As a child of God who fears God, you have nobody else to fear (Psalm 27:1). But if you refuse to fear God after being born again, Satan and his agents, unpleasant situations and circumstances will all force you to fear them. If you fear God, the others will automatically fear you. The measure of their fear will depend on the measure of your fear for God, their Creator. You can live beyond threats if you can submit to God and trust wholly in Him.
MEMORIZE: ROMANS 8:31 –What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
