TACKLING THREATS

READ: 2 KINGS 19:14-22
“And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.” (1 Kings 19:3).
Immediately Elijah received the letter of threat from Jezebel, he took to his heels. Whenever you receive a letter of threat from the Jezebel in your home, office, school or ministry, the first thing to do is take it to the Lord. Seek His face until you hear from Him. Whatever He tells you on the matter, rest your case there. Begin to thank Him for fulfilling His word concerning the issue. Remain persistent in thanksgiving even if the situation appears to aggravate. Eventually you will have the victory. Any threat you successfully present to the Lord this way will become a testimony. In every threatening situation facing you, God has a word. You have to pray until you hear that word. Then pitch your tent there. It shall come to pass.
Elijah ended his marathon and quickly took a decision. Never take decisions when you are tired, angry or highly pressed. As such times, you are more prone to mistakes. If you have to take an urgent decision when tired, think properly, pray about it and sleep over it. With a lighter and better mindset the following morning, it will be easier to make better decision. “The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1).
Elijah had just had victory on the mountain top and then he went to the valley. He forgot that the God on the mountain is still God in the valley. If Baal failed on the mountain, it will still fail in the valley. God can repeat miracles. If He gave you victory in your academic project and over sin, He will give you victory over Satan. If He can deliver you from hell, He can take you to Heaven. Every past victory should be used as a basis for obtaining the desired victory. The Lord will see you safely through that great challenge confronting you. Just praise Him. Remember to testify when the miracle arrives.
MEMORIZE: ISAIAH 14:5 –The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers.
