EXPLOITS OF FAITH

READ: HEBREWS 11:32-40

The Bible documents a catalogue of men, women and nations who moved, shook and reshaped the fabric of history. They walked in faith and refused to be discouraged until they achieved their desired goals. Today, we read about their exploits of faith only because they dared to stand.
To take a step in faith calls for a decision. You have to make a choice among alternatives. Daniel had to choose between remaining God’s favourite and being thrown into the lions’ den. Joseph had to choose between the satanic offer of limited greatness given by Portiphar’s wife and achieving his God-given dream. Even today, to walk in faith you may be required to choose between acquiring wealth by fraudulent means and maintaining your status quo until God lifts you.
Similarly, the walk in faith makes demands on your knowledge of the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” (Daniel 11:32)
The more you know of God, the more equipped you are to walk in faith. The Christian’s life is one of faith. For ‘We walk by faith and not by sight.’ The less you know about God, the more difficult it is for you to live the life of faith. The less you live in faith, the less you please God, “For without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6).
To walk in faith also requires unquestionable trust in God. The level of trust you repose in God will determine the degree and quality of your faith. If you trust in the Lord is total, your faith will be very active. If others can achieve so much through faith, you too can. Start trusting God today!

MEMORIZE: DANIEL 11:32 –... but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
