NEVER TO LATE

READ: JOHN 11:1-6
Men are very time conscious beings. Virtually every activity they indulge in day after day is tied up to one time or the other. But in their dealings with God, conflicts arise when their time for certain expected blessings do not exactly tally with God’s.
This situation has made many to think that God is late in doing certain things. Have you ever thought God was late over an issue in your life? How could you ever expect that the One who created time has no sense of time? The fact is that God is eternal. He has no beginning or ending. But man is highly limited hence he operates with time.
In our reading, Lazarus, a friend of Jesus was seriously sick. His sisters immediately sent for Him to come and heal him. To them it was an emergency. Jesus got the message but He stayed where He was. To Him, it was not an emergency. Before God, not everything you tag ‘emergency’ is actually so. It is not what the specialist calls it either. Situations are only what the Creator calls them.
Like Mary and Martha, you may want to avert the worst. Yet God might want the worst to happen before He responds and takes the glory. After all, which gives Him greater glory: The sick is healed or the dead is raised to life? The newly wedded has a baby after a year of marriage or a couple has a baby after ten years of waiting?
Your miracle shall not be delayed in Jesus name. Your blessings will come speedily. But if God in His infinite wisdom delays in responding to the matter you brought before His court, and you check your life and see that you are in right standing before Him, then simply rejoice. He is working out a bigger testimony, a greater joy and a wonderful glory for you. When the blessing eventually comes, you will find that it could not have arrived at a better time. God’s timing is the best.
MEMORIZE: PSALM 40:1 –I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.
