The meeting between
Abigail and David appeared like a chance event a chance event but it was a
divine arrangement. As a child of God, nothing happens to you by accident but
by God’s design. This is why you must insist on following God’s guidance in
every area of your life.
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that, the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
Christians are not ‘lucky’; they are favoured and blessed. They do not enter their breakthrough by mistake; they are destined into greatness. As long as you are connected to the One who controls time, chance and has the hearts of all men; you will surely enter your promised land. God made Pharaoh’s daughter barren so as to pave way for Moses to fill the vacuum. In Exodus 2:5-10 God arranged for Moses to be put in the River Nile, at the time Pharaoh’s daughter would take her bath. That was a destined meeting which fulfilled God’s purpose to raise in Pharaoh’s court the one who would later destroy him.
Before the Israelites would ask for a king, the Lord had known and prepared Saul. For Saul to meet with Samuel, God arranged for the asses of Saul’s father to be missing, and for Saul to be sent in search of them until he had no choice but to seek divine guidance from Samuel. The Lord had informed Samuel that He was sending Saul to him. Saul went in search of asses but God was ordering his steps into a meeting that would change his life (1 Samuel 9:1-17). May you not miss divine programming. The Lord will order your steps into greatness. If you meet with difficulty, it is you have been destined to use it as a stepping stone to greatness. Are you a child of God? That situation of need, loss or sorrow has been designed as an avenue to link you up with those who would take you into greatness. Stop worrying. Start praising God for working out His plan in your life.
