EXTRA OIL NEEDED

READ: MATTHEW 25:5-9
It is amazing that after all the preparations by the ten virgins, 50 percent of them could not see the bridegroom. They were virgins – pure, sanctified, holy, chosen, expecting and watching, had access to the word of God, were baptized in the Holy Spirit, yet only half of them made it. If we have all these qualifications today, we will begin to celebrate. They all slept – that means they buried themselves in daily activities of human survival. But when the cry came announcing the bridegroom’s arrival, they woke up. This means that they held earthly treasures and affairs with loose hands. They were Heaven-focused.
They were all involved in the last days’ revival. They trimmed their lamps, meaning they restituted their ways so that nothing would hinder them. When they left home they all had oil, meaning they were all anointed and baptized in the Holy Spirit. The oil sustained their lamps all the way from their homes. But when the time came to complete the journey, their oil ran out. The wise ones had extra oil so they quickly put it into their lamps. Any oil that will run out before you see the Master is inadequate. It is not enough to be baptized in the Holy Spirit; you must be constantly filled with the Spirit. Thank God for the preparations you have made; but focus on pending issues.
To make it to Heaven, you must be a zealous witness. You must witness everyday. Any day that passes without an opportunity to witness should make you uncomfortable. You must develop all the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. You must not take any aspect of God’s word for granted. Obey God completely. Never mind if people call you names. Soon the bridegroom will come and He will reward you. Be prepared.
MEMORIZE: EPHESIANS 5:18 –And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
