SACRIFICE OF THANKSGIVING

READ: PSALM 100:1-5
“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to Him with psalms” (Psalm 95:2).
The packaging and presentation of a product is very important to the sale of that product. You may have the best product on earth; if the packaging is unattractive and the presentation is zero, that product will remain on the shelf. Some believers have a very important need or request which heaven is interested in. but the way they package the matter in prayer is unattractive, hence God does not buy their ‘need’ product.
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praises: be thankful to Him, and bless His name” (Psalm 100:4). As you approach God’s presence, the first thing God wants to hear from you is thanksgiving, and as you leave, the last thing God wants to hear from you is thanksgiving. This means thanksgiving is heaven’s certified material for packaging and presenting requests. Your requests should start and end with thanksgiving. When your request is coated with thanksgiving, God would have swallowed it before realizing. And through this, He would be compelled to grant your request. Thanksgiving is God’s delicacy –the appetizer like praise is the main menu. In heaven’s three-course meal, thanksgiving takes the first and last courses.
Thanksgiving has various shades and configurations. You can thank God for what He has already done. You can also thank God for what He has started but is yet to finish. You can go beyond this level to offer God a sacrifice of thanksgiving according to Amos 4:5, a sacrifice is parting with something of value. A sacrifice touches you to the bone marrow and is highly resisted by the flesh. Thanking God when you are broke, sick, disappointed, rejected, demoted, or involved in an accident is a sacrificial thanksgiving. The aroma of such a thanksgiving is so strong that God cannot but notice it. Thanking God in situations where everyone and Satan would ask you to complain, grumble, protest or even desert God like Job in Job 1:13-22, is a sacrificial one. That is what gets heaven’s expedited response. Do you thank God only when He has done something for you? Do you complain and grumble over delayed blessings and expectations? Put an end to it today! Try and give God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Do so non-stop and you will trigger your breakthrough.
MEMORIZE: AMOS 4:5 –And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings; for this likes you, O you children of Israel, says the Lord God.
