READ: KINGS 19:15-16
In Joshua 1:1-9, Good
looked at a servant, a messenger to Moses and saw in him a national leader. For
someone using this Devotional, you may be poor and lowly placed but God is
seeing in you a national leader. He is calling you a national leader and as you
yield to Him, He will bring it to pass.
“And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word” (1 Kings 17:1). Elijah was unknown and had an insignificant parentage. The Hebrews were very proud of their ancestry hence the Bible is full of whole genealogies. You will read that so and so gave birth to so and so, etc. Whenever somebody’s name is mentioned, it will be followed by his father’s name. For Elijah’s father’s name to have been overlooked simply shows he was a ‘nobody’, yet God saw in this ‘nobody’, someone who would provoke a national revival.
What is important is not what people see in you or even what you see in yourself but what God sees in you. Many parents never saw anything good in their children but God did. It is possible that people are calling you names because they believe you will amount to nothing. Your parents and relatives may not see anything in you but God does. Your pastor may not see anything good in you but the Master Sculptor does. You may not even think anything good can coe out of yourself but God sees something unique coming out of you. That thing God is seeing, which nobody else can see, will surely manifest in your life in Jesus name.
In 1 Kings 19:15-16, God looked at the young son of a farmer and saw in him someone who can become a divine power house. In Luke 8:1-3, the Lord looked at a witch and saw in her a divine treasure. In Acts 19:15-16, Good looked at a doctor of law and determined anti-Christ and saw in him a vessel to honour. What is God seeing in you today? Are you prepared to cooperate with Him so that He is seeing can become what everybody else is seeing? Then submit your life to Christ. Be born again. Soak yourself in the Word of God and obey His bidding every step of the way. Worship Him regularly. Receive directions from Him and follow them accordingly. Your end will be glorious.
