READ: LUKE 24:19-27
“Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the
book it is written of me” (Psalm 40:7).
Before Jesus was born, several prophecies were spoken concerning Him. They covered certain details about His birth and childhood, betrayal and suffering, crucifixion, death and resurrection and His glorification. This means, the life of Jesus was spread across the pages of Scriptures even before His birth. As He grew, He took time to do a course titled, “Written Concerning Me.” In that study, He began to research page by page, precept upon precept, line upon line, all scriptures that were written concerning Him. As He found them, He documented each and became sure of God’s plan for His life.
One day, He went to the temple on arrival at Nazareth. He was given the scroll of Isaiah and HE scanned through until He found Isaiah 42:1 which was written concerning Him. After reading the passage, He told them that scripture has just been fulfilled in their midst (Luke 4:16-21). Having obtained all that were prophesied concerning Him, He had to pray to stand and respond to each of those situations in accordance with God’s will. No wonder Jesus did not fail the Father.
Do you know that like Jesus, certain prophecies have gone out concerning you even before you were born? These prophecies and promises are not concentrated in one book of the Bible but are scattered all over 66 books. Like Jesus, you are expected to register for the same course, fish out all that are written concerning you, and pattern your life after God’s will. The more you are able to discover, grab and utilize them, the greater your chances of achieving your divine destiny, both on earth and in heaven. Romans 5:1 and 8:1 say because you have been born into God’s kingdom, nothing will disturb your peace and condemnation is gone. This automatically tells you to shut the door against anything contrary. Another prophecy in Romans 8:11 say every part of your body is qualified to receive life from the Spirit of Christ. This also means you should not live in sickness or death. How many of the prophecies that are written concerning you are in your kitty? How many of them are shaping your life-style?
