READ: ROMANS 16:19-20
“And said, if you will diligently hearken to
the voice of the LORD your God and will do that which is right in His sight,
and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put
none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I
am the LORD that heals you” (Exodus 15:26).
The Lord is saying that obedience can put paid to sickness in your life. This is why you must consider your attitude to God’s Word. If you take time to listen to God’s Word and go further to put it into practice, you truly love yourself: you are doing yourself a great favour. From this scripture, it is possible to obey God’s instructions carelessly or diligently. It is even possible to hear and not obey it at all. Obedience can make a difference between sickness and health. The difference between frequently sick believers and those living in divine health is their level of compliance with God’s Word. If you are frequently sick, check your life and find out those areas your obedience is incomplete because according to 2 Corinthians 10:6, as long as such exist, God cannot deal with those things dealing with you. You can only be as healthy as your level of obedience can carry you. Beef up your obedience to God. From today’s reading, it is after your level of obedience had become outstanding that God will be committed to subduing all satanic forces working against you, including Satan, under your feet. Your victory over Satan is tied to your level of compliance with the Word.
Beyond being sickness free, obedience can also strengthen you to stand in the gap for others to be healed or delivered according to Matthew 8:5-13. Some years ago, after returning from a trip to the United States, I was tired. A sister wanted prayer for her sick grandmother but since I needed rest, I asked her to bring her handkerchief and I prayed on it. She went and laid it on her grandmother. The next morning, doctors came to check if the woman had died but met her totally healed. As believers there is need to frequently intercede for our loved ones. If you find it difficult obeying the Lord, your intercession will lose its efficacy before the court of heaven. How obedient are you to God? How obedient are you to the heavenly vision or direction given by God? Complete obedience can secure great blessings for you.
