THE SCULPTOR

READ: JUDGES 6:11-16
“(As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before Him whom he believed, even God, who makes alive the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17).
in the above passage God looked at a man who was barren and spoke life into him. Abraham was not just barren, he was the chief of barren men. Barrenness was attached to him before he married Sarah and long before he knew the Lord. Even after a definite encounter with God at age 75, the barrenness persisted until he was 100 years. Yet God chose a man who was celebrated barren man and said He will become a father of many nations. And that has come to pass today. The Lord is looking at you today and speaking into your life and future. He is saying barrenness will soon be over in your life. Poverty will become a thing of the past. Very soon, that problem which has defiled all human solutions will disappear. The source of your deepest sorrow will soon become the source of your greatest joy. He says this because He can see the invisible.
When a sculptor wants to carve out something, he looks at a piece of wood and begins to see what nobody else can see in it. Sometimes, as he looks at the wood, he sees a lion or an eagle which the ordinary eye will not see. God is a Master sculptor. Each time He looks at a man or woman, He sees something beautiful that could come out of the fellow by the time He is through. The Bible is replete with examples of logs of wood that God looked at and pronounced what is there. In today’s reading, God looked at a coward who was actually hiding from the enemies but in him, God saw a mighty man of valour. God called him so, and by the time He was through, that erstwhile coward became the General through whom God delivered a nation from powerful enemies. God is looking at you right now. He is seeing beyond your weaknesses and frailties. He is seeing beyond your failures. In you, God is seeing greatness, might, wealth, His battle axe, and is calling you so. He is calling so because He will make up the difference between what you can see and what He can see which to you is far-fetched. Today, yield yourself as that log safely in the arms of the sculptor, and in the process of time what He is saying concerning you which people cannot see now, would become obvious.
MEMORIZE: 1 PETER 5:6 –Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
