READ: DEUTERONOMY 8:11-14
A millionaire is somebody
who has far more than he gives out. Some people are so wealthy that if they
want to close their account in a bank, the branch manager will beg them not to.
This was true especially before capitalization of the banking industry. In the
same way, some people are so healthy that even if they work for 20 hours non
stop, they will still be bouncing. When I went to dedicate our church in Abuja
sometime ago, before I started, the church was already over flowing with
people. The Lord will prosper you materially and in health.
“If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19). God gave two conditions for supernatural abundance. You must be willing, and you must be obedient. You must be willing to become supernaturally rich because God Himself is willing. When there is a marriage between the will of God and that of man, room is created for the miraculous. Many believers have misinterpreted today’s reading to mean that if one prospers, he will forget God. No. What God is saying is that He has a plan for your life which incorporates prosperity. He wants you to eat and be full because some people with little; eat and their hunger is really stirred up. He wants you to prosper progressively.
But He warns that you should not forget the Source of your wealth. He knows that it is more challenging to manage success than to manage failure. Somebody who sleeps on a mat will pray more at night than the fellow who sleeps on an electrically powered waterbed. If you are not holy before your prosperity comes, it could destroy you. Holiness is the foundation for lasting wealth and prosperity. But if you are not holy, and you are given wealth, it can be easily be stolen. God’s purpose for blessing you is to make you rich without sorrow, hence the need for salvation and holiness as prerequisites for your prosperity (3 John 2; Matthew 6:33). Are you living right before God? Is your will in alignment with God’s will on prosperity? Are you ready to use the extra He releases for His kingdom? Worship the Lord today and ask for the release of prosperity upon you.
