READ: ROMANS 8:26-27
Jesus Christ sent the
Holy Spirit to us as our go-between. If you want to ask anything from Jesus,
your husband, it is wisdom to go to your go-between and solicit His assistance.
One challenge facing believers is how to pray effectively. It is not as if we
don’t pray at all but that we lack the required packaging and presentation of
our prayers in a way as to obtain heaven’s approval. This is where the Holy
Spirit comes in. We have several limitations. Sometimes our requests are want
focused whereas the needs are still intact. The Holy Spirit as our go-between
helps to cover up our lapses, ignorance and inadequacies.
“And He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:27). How does the Holy Spirit act as our go-between? Take this analogy. You are born again and therefore a bride of Jesus Christ. If you want something from your husband and ask the Holy Spirit to assist, He will go to Jesus and say: “Do you know that everyone is thinking of buying something beautiful for Christmas? The only fellow who lacks the means to purchase clothes is your wife, and I have already told her that you are the greatest, the richest, and that the earth and its fullness belongs to you.” Elated, Jesus will reply, “Tell me what the others are buying.” “They are buying gowns, hats and bags to match,” the Holy Spirit will reply. “How many do you think I should buy for my wife?” Jesus will ask. “Well, because of what I have said about you, half a dozen each would suffice,” the Holy Spirit will conclude.
Presently, the role of the Holy Spirit among others is to assemble the brides of Jesus Christ. When He comes to sinner, He will whisper to the fellow about Jesus Christ. He will talk about His wealth, power and fame and what that sinner stands to derive from receiving Jesus as Saviour. The moment the sinner agrees, the Holy Spirit will immediately brand the fellow with a heavenly seal which enemies of God can see. How often do you solicit the assistance of your go-between? If you feel you can handle it all by yourself, He will leave you alone.
