HEAVENLY CALENDAR

READ: PSALM 90:1-12
Just as human beings have a calendar, God also has His. Ours is classified into months, weeks and days. But God’s calendar is quite different from ours. Psalm 90:4 says, “For a thousand years in Your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.” According to this passage, in God’s calendar, 1000 earth years are like one day. Also, the same period is like a watch in the night; in other words, 1000 earth years are less than one hour. This is one reason God can never be late in intervening in our lives. What we call deadlines, ultimatum or last moments actually give God several years to intervene. God will not be late in your life in Jesus name.
In the heavenly calendar, the first advent (coming) of Jesus marked the beginning of the End Time or the Last Days. This End time period is further split into three days. The first is called the Present Day which began from the day Jesus Christ ascended into heaven through when the Holy Spirit fell at Pentecost, and beyond the Early Church. The Present Day is yet to end. After this day comes another day – the Day of Jesus Christ which will be for 1000 years, also known as the millennial reign. Thereafter, a third day comes which is the Day of God – the eternal day. It is a day when there will be no night for some and no day for others. This is called eternity.
These three days are very crucial in God’s calendar. Let us briefly examine the present day. Immediately after Jesus came for the introduction and paid the bride price in His first advent, He left. Then He sent the Holy Spirit as the go-between and to ensure He is glorified. The Holy Spirit unveils Jesus to us just as a physical go –between does in marriage proposal. John 15:26 says, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me.” Since Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, He has remained on earth. Several believers whom God allowed to visit heaven and return to earth are usually surprised at not seeing the third person in the Trinity having seen both the Father and Jesus Christ. They are told He is in the earth. Why is He here? To help us in knowing about God the more and understand His ways. To assist us in knowing how best to obtain our desires from God. How close are you to the Holy Spirit.
MEMORIZE: PSALM 90:4 –For a thousand years in Your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
