READ: TITUS 1:9-16
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out
into the world” (1 John 4:1).
In Matthew 24:23-24, our Lord Jesus Christ warned of the coming of false Christs and prophets who will perform great signs and wonders and deceive many if care is not taken, even the elect. Quite a number of them abound today and their purpose is to steal, kill and destroy like the one who commissioned them in their satanic mission. You need to take care so that you do not become a victim. You will find them in some churches, on radio, television and on pages of newspapers and magazine. On the internet they abound. Be warned.
In a popular Gospel church, a senior pastor organized an area Holy Ghost service where he asked those in attendance to come forward for their miracles. All he did was: show them his palm and as they looked, they started falling one by one. Later, as the pastor prayed with other pastors under his area one day, God opened the eyes of one of them and he saw a spiritual bird enter their place of meeting which started flying around. So this pastor stopped taking the general prayer points and started praying against the witch bird. But his senior pastor called him aside and said, “Brother so and so, I did not ask you to pray about the bird: join the regular prayer points.” But that junior pastor replied, ‘So you want your bird to pluck off my eyes?’ That incident provoked the younger pastor to resign and leave the church.
Certain people may end up as meat for satanic ministers. Those that are miracle crazy and jump from church to church; those with itch ears who cannot stand the truth of God’s Word; those who cannot subject every doctrine or teaching to serious scrutiny like Berean Christians did (Acts 17:11); those who assess men of God by their appearance and messages but not by their fruit (character or life-style); those who are not rooted in God’s Word and so are easily carried away by every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14); those who allow pressure from peers and parents to make them yield to wrong doing; those who know they are in the wrong place yet refuse to come out; those who refuse to try the spirit behind the acts or acclaimed miracles; etc. You don’t have to be meat for Satan or his ministers. Stop jumping about. Focus on Jesus and His word. If you are in a wrong church, come out today!
