READ: 1 KINGS 18:19-20
From time to time,
enemies of God’s people gather for one evil purpose or the other. It could be
to take counsel on the best way to trap them, increase their burdens, cause or
worsen their sorrows or even kill them. They may gather in their covens, secret
corners, offices, schools or even in places of worship. Whatever their purpose
of gathering, our God who never sleeps attends all their meetings. Psalm 2:4
says He will laugh at your enemies. Praise God. The worst attack your enemies
can launch is a surprise attack. But considering the fact that nothing is
hidden from our God, He will expose their plans. In fact, sometimes He can even
take you to attend such meetings in the spirit and you will see things very
clearly.
“I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about” (Psalm 3:6). Have people planned a coup against you in the church or in your place of work? Be not afraid. Look up to the One who secretly attended that meeting to spoil their plans. Isaiah 54:15-17 says whenever you are living a life of holiness and service, He will turn the tables against your enemies and make you untouchable. He will paralyze the weapons they form or fashion against you.
Why then do Christians still fall prey to the plans of enemies? It is because they have neglected their place of security – holiness and wholehearted service. Have you fallen prey to your enemies? Repent now and immediately get involved in serving God and living a life that glorifies Him. Some Christians would be afraid to see their enemies gather. But Elijah summoned a national conference of witches and idol priests and asked them to do their worst. Daniel 11:32 says your strength and boldness will be determined by the extent to which you know God. How close are you to God? The 450 Baal prophets gathered, yet not one of them remained alive. All those who have gathered together against you shall be erased from the land of the living. Fear not. Those gathering against you are only digging their graves.
