READ: MATTHEW 6:19-21
Just as you can make
withdrawals from your earthly bank account, so also can you withdraw from your
heavenly account. The withdrawals can either be positive or negative. The
withdrawals made for the purpose of building your mansion and furnishing it to
your taste, are positive in nature. There are mansions of different sizes. The
class of mansion you get is largely dependent on what you have in your account.
There are also negative fallouts. When you deliberately sin, your account is rendered dormant. If you persist in that sin you account could be closed. Eventually the credit there and the project being constructed for you, together with your crown(s) will be transferred to those who excelled in serving God (Revelation 3:11). Nobody will take my crown. What about you?
How can you lose credits from your account? According to the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30, one can lose all his credits for failing to develop his talent(s) and enriching God’s Kingdom. Do you have a gift or an ability which you have not begun to exploit for the expansion of God’s Kingdom? Dust it up and begin to use it from today. Those who deliberately break some commandments and teach others to follow suit, stand the risk of losing great rewards and being brought to the lowest levels in Heaven (Matthew 5:19). This is because they are instruments of robbing congregations of certain blessings that would have come to them if they had declared the whole counsel of God. Ironically, a number of such pastors are highly rated on earth, but they are among the least in Heaven. Their excuse is that a particular command is minor and should be ignored. Revelation 22:18-21 says taking away vital bible doctrines from your message automatically erodes the person’s eternal reward.
If you engage in pulling down God’s Kingdom and God’s children in any way: through gossiping, sowing discord in the midst of the brethren, fighting with one another, and living in pride, your heavenly account will be negatively drawn. How is your statement of account today? Is it reading ‘red?’ You can begin again. Repent and start grow your account. Avoid unforgiveness and doubt. Work to be in the highest ranks in Heaven. Some popular men of God who started very well and had great credit in their accounts have lost them to heresies. Beware.
